(TibetanReview.net, Sep11, 2018) – Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, is visiting Sweden, Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland over Sep 12–23, to give public talks and religious teachings and to take part in conferences and other events. He has greatly reduced his overseas travels these days, citing his octogenarian limitations.

He begins his visit to Sweden with a public talk on ‘The Art of Happiness and Peace’ in Malmo on Sep 12, followed by another public talk, which will be on ‘Why Compassion is Essential in our Troubled World’, in Rotterdam, on Sep 16. He concludes his Swedish visit with a religious teaching in Rotterdam the next morning.

He will begin his next European itinerary in Germany on Sep 19 by taking part in a conference on Non-Violence and Peace in an event organised by Tibet Initiative Deutschland and the Gaden Phodrang Foundation of the Dalai Lama at the Congress Centre Darmstadtium. On the following day the Dalai Lama will take part in a ‘Dialogue on Happiness and Responsibility’ with scientists in Heidelberg at the Stadthalle Heidelberg in an event organized by the German-American Institute (DAI) Heidelberg.

Then over Sep 21-23, the Dalai Lama will take part in events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Tibet Institute Rikon and give religious teachings. These are being organised by the Tibet Institute Rikon and the Tibetan Community of Switzerland & Liechtenstein.
