Estonian lawmaker visits exile Tibetan administration

(TibetanReview.net, Apr26, 2018) – A lawmaker who heads the Estonian Parliamentary Tibet Group has met with the Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile and the President of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) during her visit to Dharamshala on Apr 23 and 24.

The lawmaker, Yoko Alender, was accompanied by Roy Strider, Coordinator for Tibet support related activities in Estonia, besides her husband Priit Juurmann.

President Dr Lobsang Sangay was reported to have briefed the visitors about the democratic structure of the CTA and the situation in Tibet under Chinese rule. He has called for international pressure on China to allow independent journalists to investigate the situation in Tibet.

During his meeting on Apr 23, Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel was reported to have also briefed Yoko Alender similarly, and about the exile administration’s Middle Way Approach of seeking autonomy, not independence, for Tibet through dialogue with China.
