Fate of two detained Ngaba Tibetans unknown

(TibetanReview.net, Nov23, 2009)  Two Tibetans were reported to be missing ever since they were arrested separately in Apr’08 and on Mar 3’09 from different parts of Sichuan province. The exile Tibetan government’s Tibet.net Nov 21 named the two as Dolma Namgyal and monk Jamyang Namgyal, both natives of Ngaba (Chinese: Aba) County.

The report said Dolma Namgyal, son-in-law of Ngatoe Adhu family in Ngaba County, was arrested in Apr’08. He was accused of having contacted exile Tibetans and arrested in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province.

Jamyang Phuntsok, a monk of Kirti Monastery in Ngaba County, was arrested on Mar 3’09, accused of being associated with Tapey, a young monk who immolated himself last year in protest against the Chinese occupation of Tibet.

The exile government report said it was not clear whether the two were even alive or dead.
