Monastery's head expelled for consulting Dalai Lama over reincarnation

For allegedly consulting the Dalai Lama over the discovery of the reincarnation of a lama, the authorities in Nagchu County of Tibet Autonomous Region have, in May 2010, removed the head of the local Shag Rongpo monastery, forced monks to undergo a “patriotic education”, jailed one monk for two years, and forced 17 other monks to leave the monastery.
