Gyama Tibetans continue protest poisoning from mine

(TibetanReview.net, Aug 19) Tibetan villagers in Gyama Township of Maldrogungkar County, Lhasa City, have come under added political pressure to withdraw their protest against an environmentally destructive mining operation being carried out in the region, reported the exile Tibetan government on its official web site Tibet.net Aug 18. Earlier on Jun 20, three Tibetans were seriously injured in a clash between local Tibetans and Chinese miners after the latter tried to divert the former’s irrigation water to a mining site.
