Protests held in Nyarong County, three held

(TibetanReview.net, Mar 19, 2009) — Three Tibetans were arrested, protest letters pasted on government buildings and a Tibetan national flag seen planted in a school compound on Mar 12 in Nyarong (Chinese: Xinlong) County of Karze Prefecture in Sichuan Province, reported the exile Tibetan government’s Tibet.net Mar 16. The arrests followed a rally by a group of Tibetans who shouted slogans and threw handbills in the air containing protest messages.

The report said police broke a leg of one of the protesters.

Police paraded the three arrested protesters through the market and announced rewards for information on the other protesters.
