(TibetanReview.net, Jun29, 2015) – More than 250 Tibet support groups from across India will take part in a National Conference of Tibet Support Groups of India in the northeast Indian city of Guwahati over Oct 10-11, reported assamtribune.com Jun 27. Many prominent political leaders and diplomats are likely to take part in the programme, organizers were cited as saying.

The report said the conference’s organising committee, headed by Mr RK Khrimey, former finance minister of Arunachal Pradesh state and who is also the chairman of the organising committee, visited Guwahati Jun 27, along with Mr JP Sharma, senior advocate of Delhi High Court and convener of Delhi region, and Mr Jigmey Tsultrim, coordinator of Indo-Tibet Coordination Office, New Delhi, as a preparatory team.

The conference aims to create awareness about the activities and policies of China towards India’s national security and Tibet issues especially among the people of Northeast India. Guwahati, Khrimey has said, is the gateway for the entire region.
