(TibetanReview.net, Feb 2) – Posters calling for Tibetan independence were posted on county government buildings in Serthar county of Karze (Chinese: Ganzi) Prefecture in Sichuan Province while Chinese flags were pulled down in the nearby towns of Khekor and Nyitoe on Jan 27 and 28, reported Radio Free Asia (Washington, DC) Jan 23, quoting Serthar Tsultrim, a Tibetan parliament-in-exile member who hails from the county.
Karze prefecture has seen repeated sporadic protests by Tibetans well after the Chinese suppression of the Tibetan uprising in Mar’08.
