(TibetanReview.net, Aug31, 2017) – Nine people were buried in a landslide which hit a village in the Tibetan prefecture of Golog in Qinghai Province in the night of Aug 30, reported China’s official Xinhua news agency Aug 30. Of them, the body of one was found while two were rescued injured and sent to hospital.

The report said search was continuing for the remaining six.

The landslide was reported to have occurred at the Sirouqian Village of Lajia Township at 4:30 AM. More than 600 rescue workers were reported to be at the site.

The report said around 90 people from 17 farming households as well as about 1,200 cattle were evacuated.

The landslide was stated to have blocked a national highway and a river.
