England cricket players meet Dalai Lama ahead of final Test match in local stadium

Must Read

(TibetanReview.net, Mar07’24) – Members of England’s cricket team have met with the Dalai Lama at his exile home in Dharamshala on Mar 6, ahead of their fifth and final Test match against India to be held in the picturesque local stadium, with the Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas on its background, from Mar 7.

England Cricket Board (ECB) took to their official X account and shared a picture of the British players seeking blessings from the Tibetan spiritual leader.

“An incredible honour to meet his holiness, the @DalaiLama; England players and management attended his residence in McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala,” ECB wrote on X.

The picture shows Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope with the Dalai Lama along with members of England’s team management.

Though England have already lost the series 1-3, both sides still have World Test Championship points to gain in Dharamshala, said the ANI news Agency Mar 6. India is currently on top of the World Test Championship standings while England is eighth on the points table, it noted.
