(TibetanReview.net, Mar 24, 2009) — In a continuing new recent trend of telling even more audacious lies about Tibet and its annexation by it, China now says it has never taken even a cent from Tibet. On the other hand, the official Xinhuanet Mar 23 cited the Statistical Bureau of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) as saying that from 1951 to 2008, Beijing invested more than 100 billion yuan just on infrastructure construction there. Also in this period, China’s transfer payments to the TAR was reported to have exceeded 201.9 billion yuan, with an annual growth rate of 12 percent.

The report also claimed that by the end of 2008, within the 11th Five-Year Plan period, China’s financial subsidy to the TAR reached 62.5 billion yuan, 24.7 billion more than in the 10th Five-Year Plan period.
