(TibetanReview.net, Feb 16) – In its never-ending quest to “prove” that Tibet has been an inalienable part of it since ancient times, China began screening a documentary on the occupied region’s alleged past and claimed present on Feb 15 in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Tibet (Autonomous Region), Qinghai, Gansu and Yunnan, and is to make it available nationwide by Feb 17.
Xinhua’s Tibet website Feb 15 reported that the documentary, co-issued by the China News Documentary Film Studio, Huaxia Films Co., Ltd and Zhongying Digital Film Company, “shows Tibet is an inalienable part of China with abundant historical documents, videos and photos, discloses the brutal and dark old Tibet under the feudal serfdom integrated with religion and politics and displays the remarkable progresses in society, culture and life Tibet has made over the last five decades”.
The 14-minute documentary, titled as “Tibet of China: Past and Present”, premiered in Beijing on Feb 15 to mark the 50th anniversary of the democratic reform of the Tibet Autonomous Region, said another Xinhua report Feb 15.
