(TibetanReview.net, Mar12, 2014) – While the exile Tibetan administration at Dharamsala, India, has made the middle way policy the mainstay of its campaign, China has declared an all-out fight against this policy. Efforts should be made to help local officials and people get a clear understanding of the nature and danger of the Dalai Lama’s preaching of the “middle way” and “high-degree autonomy,” China’s party mouthpiece english.peopledaily.com.cn Mar 10 cited top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng as saying.

It said Yu made the remark during a panel discussion with deputies from Tibet Autonomous Region on the sidelines of the ongoing annual session of the National People’s Congress.

Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), has also told the Tibetan deputies that strengthening the frontier region is key to governing a country, and maintaining stability in Tibet is a prerequisite of strengthening the frontier region.

Yu is one of the seven members of the party Politburo Standing Committee, the top decision-making body in China.
