(TibetanReview.net, Dec 26) — There were two incidents of fire at Tibet’s capital Lhasa in the night of Dec 25, with no casualties, reported China’s official Xinhua news agency Dec 26. One engulfed a home appliances warehouse named Sifeng Appliance storehouse located west of the Jokhang Temple. Eight fire engines were rushed to the site which had a covered space of 2,000 square metres and merchandise worth 20 million yuan (US $2.94 million). Another fire raged at a hotel about 500 meters from the Jokhang Temple, another Xinhua report said, without naming the hotel. The case of the fire remained unknown in both the cases.
