(TibetanReview.net, Nov18, 2015) – China said Nov 17 that a county-level official in the Tibet Autonomous Region had been expelled from the party for corruption. The case of Bai Deyu, former director of the Education Bureau of Riwoche County in Chamdo City, had been transferred to judicial organs for decision according to law for his alleged violation of discipline and law, reported China’s online Tibet news service eng.tibet.cn Nov 17, citing the official Xinhua news agency.

The report said that as the director of Education Bureau of Riwoche County, Bai Deyu had accepted bribes of more than 200,000 yuan from goods suppliers. It added that he took the bribery by signing fictitious contracts with suppliers to purchase rice, flour, meat and others, and also embezzled more than 100,000 yuan from education funds.

The report said that although he knew clearly that 80 percent of the invoices issued by the oil and grain suppliers were fake, he still approved the verifications for the purchase of these items worth more than 2,000,000 yuan. It added that in addition “Three Guarantee” materials were purchased at prices one to three times higher than the market price.
