Dalai Lama attends int’l cricket match at D’sala

(TibetanReview.net, Oct19, 2014) – On invitation by Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA), the Dalai Lama on Oct 17 attended the fourth one-day international match between India and West Indies at the HPCA stadium in Dharamshala. He met with each member and support staff of both the teams with the presentation of traditional Tibetan ceremonial scarves.

He was joined by Mr PK Dhumal, former chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, and Mr Anurag Thakur, President of HPCA and Member of Parliament.

MrSanjay Sharma, spokesman of HPCA, told the media that it was a great honour to have the Dalai Lama present at the match given the fact that he is usually travelling around the world.

The Dalai Lama watched the match for about an hour.
