(TibetanReview.net, Jun21, 2017) – The Dalai Lama has revealed Jun 18 that he was diagnosed with a “small sign of cancer” two years ago and that no sign of it was found during his Jun 14, 2017 annual checkup at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester City, Minnesota state, where it was treated at that time. Doctors there have assured him that he was cancer-free, reported the Tibetan Service of Radio Free Asia (Washington) Jun 19.

The Dalai Lama made the remark during his address to hundreds of Tibetans in San Diego, California. “This time during the examination at the Mayo Clinic, they saw no trace of it. It is completely cured,” the Dalai Lama was quoted as saying.

“I was told that my health was very good,” Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader was further quoted as saying.

During his current, ongoing visit, the Dalai Lama has reiterated his confidence and premonition that he will live to be at least 113 years old.

Later on Jun 19 morning the Dalai Lama was welcomed at Newport Beach by some 120 Tibetans, Vietnamese, Chinese and other friends, with Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait being among the prominent persons who received him.

The Dalai Lama was introduced by the mayor to a meeting with members of the local chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization, a global network of young chief executives.
