(TibetanReview.net, Nov11, 2015) – The exile Tibetan administration at Dharamshala, India, on Nov 8 formally opened a de facto mission in Brazil with the inauguration in Sao Paulo of its Tibet House Brazil. Dr Daniel Goleman, a renowned author, psychologist, and science journalist gave an inaugural talk. A close friend of Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, Dr Goleman in known for his best-seller “Emotional Intelligence”. He spoke on “A Force for Good: The Dalai Lama’s Vision for Our World”.
This was also the title of his latest book published in Jun 2015 on the occasion of the Dalai Lama’s 80th birthday. More than a hundred academics, professionals, intellectuals, and students of Buddhist philosophy attended the talk which was given in the lecture hall of the Palas Athena Association.
Tibet House Brazil is headed by Mr Tsewang Phuntso, the Dalai Lama’s representative for the Latin American Region. Prof Lia Diskin, Co-Founder of the Palas Athena Association and Board adviser of the Tibet House, said the opening of Tibet House Brazil was the realization of efforts made over the past many years.
Lama Rinchen, a board member of Tibet House and a Brazilian Sakya Tibetan Buddhist delivered the vote of thanks.
