(TibetanReview.net, Mar25, 2014) – Tibet’s spiritual leader in exile, the Dalai Lama, is to visit Japan from Apr 6 to 18 to deliver lectures in Tokyo and Kyoto as well as to hold discussions with scholars. No meetings with politicians have been scheduled, reported Kyodo news agency Mar 23, citing his representative’s office in Tokyo.

The Dalai Lama will also take part in activities to help lift the spirits of survivors of the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami that hit northeastern Japan in Mar 2011.

The Dalai Lama last visited Japan in November last year. Unlike South Korea, Japan has continued to grant visa to the Dalai Lama, although with a condition that he refrain from political activities that may anger China.
