(TibetanReview.net, Sep09, 2017) – Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, is visiting the UK, Germany, Italy and Latvia for 21 days beginning Sep 9 for a series of public talks, teachings, conferences and symposiums. He recently cancelled his first visit to Botswana scheduled for August and postponed a planned October trip to Emory University in the USA citing physical exhaustion.
He arrives in the UK on Sep 9 and will give a public talk on Compassion in Action in the Millennium Forum in Derry, Northern Ireland, the following day. It is being organized by Children in Crossfire, a group set up to help change the conditions for children caught up in the crossfire of injustice and poverty.
The Dalai Lama next visits Germany on Sep 12 to give a public talk on Global Ethics – Shared Values the next day in an event organised by Tibet House Frankfurt in the Jahrhunderthalle. On Sep 14 he will take part in a conference on Western Science and Buddhist Perspectives in the same venue.
On Sep 16 morning the Dalai Lama will give a public talk on Peace in the Ancient Greek-Roman Theater of Taormina, Sicily. While in Sicily, he will also give a public talk on Compassionate Ethics and Interdependence on the following day in the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele. Another public talk will be held on Sep 18 in Palermo, also in Sicily, with the topic being Joy Education.
The Dalai Lama then travels to Florence, Tuscany, to give a public talk on Peace through Education. This is being organized by the City of Florence with the venue being Mandela Forum.
Also in Italy, the Dalai Lama will, over Sep 20-21, take part in a symposium on Buddhist Science and Modern Science in the fields of Buddhist philosophy and science, the neurosciences, quantum physics, and Western philosophy. This is being organized by the University of Pisa and Istituto Lama Tzong Khapa, with the venue being the Pisa Congress Hall in Pisa, Tuscany.
The Dalai Lama will then travel to Latvia’s capital Riga for two days of religious teachings. He will also, on Sep 25, give a public talk on Harmony Without Boundaries in the Skonto Hall.
He will fly back to India the following day.
