(TibetanReview.net, Mar20’21) – The Tibetan Parliament in Exile has on Mar 19 resolved that all officials of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) should attend office in traditional Tibetan dresses through all working days of the week and should also speak proper Tibetan. Tibetan visitors to CTA offices are also asked to follow suit, reported the CTA on its Tibet.net website Mar 19.
A private member’s draft resolution for this purpose was tabled by Khenpo Jamphel Tenzin and seconded by Thupten Gyaltsen.
The resolution was adopted by a simple majority vote.
Officials are currently required to report to the office in Tibetan dresses every Wednesday.
