(TibetanReview.net, Mar 10, 2009) — Four nuns of Puru-na Nunnery in Su-ngog Township of Kardze County in Sichuan Province were jailed for 2 to 3 year jail terms for having participated with 46 fellow-nuns on May 14, 2008 in front of the Karze County Headquarters, reported Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD) Mar 7. The nuns have been named as Tashi Lhamo ( 2 years), Serka (2 years), Rinzin Choetso (3 years) and Youghal Khando (2 years).
The four were reported to be held at the Chengdu City prison.
The report said the whereabouts of seven other nuns of Puru-na still remained unknown.
