(TibetanReview.net, Jan 21) – Developing coal and salt lake mines and building settlement projects, besides highways, airports, railroads and power facilities are among the loan funds included in a 120 billion yuan (US$17.65 billion) agreement signed between the China Development Bank (CDB) and Qinghai Province, said a Xinhua report posted on China’s online Tibet news service eng.tibet.cn Jan 20.
The loan covers the period before 2015.
It said that as of Dec’08, CDB had lent 60.6 billion yuan to Qinghai Province, with 32.4 billion yuan still outstanding.
