(TibetanReview.net, Nov20, 2014) – The head of the exiled Tibetan administration at Dharamshala, Sikyong Lobsang Sangay is visiting eight cities in Canada from Nov 21 to Dec 5 to address the Tibetan communities there and, in the USA, also to meet with congressmen and others, said the exile administration on its Tibet.net website Nov 19. The statement said the trip will complete his visit to the Tibetan community in North America.
In Canada, the Sikyong will visit Halifax, Montreal and Ottawa over Nov 21-26. The statement did not give any details about these visits.
In the USA, the Sikyong will visit Tibetan communities in the states or cities of Vermont, Wisconsin, Chicago, New Mexico, Santa Fe and Boston over Nov 27-Dec 5. The statement did not say which US congressmen he will meet with and what issues he will discuss with them.
The Sikyong has also been invited by the World Hindu Congress to attend the World Hindu Congress being held in New Delhi from Nov 21 to 23. He will be represented by Mr Ngodup Tsering, the exile administration’s education minister. Some of the top leaders of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, including its president Mr Amit Shah and cabinet ministers Mr Nitin Gadkari, Ms Smriti Irani and Ms Nirmala Sitharaman are expected to attend the meeting’s inauguration. Around 1,500 delegates will attend the meeting.
