(TibetanReview.net, Oct04, 2017) – Some 6,000 devotees from 69 countries are attending four days of religious teaching being given by His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the Tsuglakhang, Dharamshala, beginning Oct 3. The teaching, which has become an annual event, has been requested by groups from Taiwan.
The teaching was preceded by recitations of the Mangala Sutta in Pali by Thai monks and the ‘Heart Sutra’ in Chinese by the 1300 Buddhists from Taiwan. The Taiwanese Buddhists belonged to 22 cultural organizations that had come together under the umbrella of the International Association of Tibetan Buddhist Dharma, Taiwan.
This year’s teaching is on Chandrakirti’s Entering the Middle Way (Tibetan: uma jugpa). The day’s teaching concluded at 11:30 AM, with the Dalai Lama promising to resume it the next morning. He suggested that the audience return in the afternoon to attend review classes.
Monks from the major Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in South India stood in a long line to enter the teaching compound on Oct 3 morning.
