(TibetanReview.net, Oct01, 2017) – More than 30 representatives of Tibet advocacy groups started a regional Asia meeting in Taiwan’s capital Taipei on Sep 29, joined by local politicians and civil society members. The meeting is being organized by International Tibet network (ITN), an umbrella body for Tibet advocacy groups around the world.

Taiwanese legislators such as Freddy Lim and Yu Mei Nu, known for their support for and solidarity with the Tibet movement, were stated to be among those attending the three-day meet.

Those who spoke on the opening day were reported to include former Indian Member of Parliament Mr Rinchen K Khrimey from the Core Group for Tibetan Cause who dwelled on the Tibet movement in India.

The ITN, based in San Francisco, works to increase the capacity of individual member organizations, develop coordinated strategic campaigns, and encourage increased cooperation among Tibet advocacy groups.
