(TibetanReview.net, Mar12, 2015) – Protest rallies to mark the 56th anniversary on Mar 10 of the Tibetan National Uprising against Chinese occupation rule were held in 25 cities across Germany, said organizer Tibet Initiative Deutschland (TID). Besides, the group said, hundreds of cities, municipalities and administrative districts throughout the country were raising the Tibetan flag on public buildings that day to express solidarity with the Tibetan people in their struggle.

In capital Berlin, TID’s Executive Director Nadine Baumann told the gathering, “The human rights situation in Tibet has increasingly deteriorated since Xi Jinping came to power in 2013, despite our initial hopes for a new, dialogue-oriented Tibet policy of the Chinese government.” TID and the Association of Tibetans in Germany (VTD) jointly organized a demonstration in front of the Chinese Embassy.

In Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich, protest rallies were held in front of the Chinese Consulates in those major German cities.

TID’s Chairman Mr Wolfgang Grader accompanies Claudia Roth, the Greens Vice-president of the German parliament, to the commemoration ceremony in Dharamshala, India.

TID is a political Tibet Support Group in Germany founded in 1989 to campaign for Tibetan people’s right to self-determination, the protection of their human rights and supports them in their non-violent fight for the preservation of Tibet’s national identity and culture. Its Berlin headquarter coordinates the work for Tibet carried out by more than 60 regional groups and contact points as well nearly 2000 members all over Germany.
