Tibet highlighted at Moscow event Jun 19-26

(TibetanReview.net, Jun29, 2011) With the participation of seven monks of Drepung Gomang Monastery in South India, the Moscow State Museum organized Tibet Days from Jun 19 to 26. The event featured talks, including by the Dalai Lama’s Representative to Russia & CIS, Mr Nawang Rabgyal, on Buddhism, art and culture; documentary films on the Dalai Lama and Tibet; and the building of a Sand Mandala of the Green Tara.

Telo Tulku Rinpoche, Shajin (Head) Lama of Kalmyk Buddhist Temple and Buddhist Union of Kalmyk Republic, also spoke, including on the situation in Tibet.

Apart from Moscow, the monks of Drepung Gomang Monastery also toured several other Russian cities, namely, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Barnayul, Biysk, Kemerova, Ekatirinbyrg, and St. Petersburg and exhibited Tibetan cultural arts and talked on spiritual tradition, reported the exile Tibetan administration-run Tibet.net Jun 28.
