(TibetanReview.net, Mar11’21) – The Tibetan National flag was on Mar 10 hoisted in front of the Woolwich Town Hall in London, UK, to mark the 62nd Tibetan national uprising day. The Royal Borough of Greenwich is a London borough in southeast Greater London.

Those who took part in the event included the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Councillor Linda Bird; Deputy Leader Cllr. David Gardner, and the Central Tibetan Administration’s Office of Tibet Representative for Northern Europe, Baltic States & Poland, Mr Sonam Tsering Frasi.

Mayor Councillor Linda Bird has said it was important to support the just cause of Tibet and all other oppressed people anywhere in the world. She has assured the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s continued support for Tibetan people.

This is the second successive year the flag-raising event was held at Woolwich Town Hall.

Some local Tibetans also attended the event from a distance due to the current Covid regulations which hallow only one person to meet another outside.  The mayor greeted them from a distance.
