(TibetanReview.net, Feb01, 2018) – The Dalai Lama has said Jan 31 that he was in excellent health after undergoing a routine medical checkup in New Delhi. The checkup took place on his way back from Bodh Gaya and after being away from his exile home for nearly a month and half.

“Just yesterday, I went to the hospital for a medical checkup at Max hospital. I am in excellent health. Of course, I am an 82-year-old person. So, year by year, the feeling of tiredness is increasing. This time I have been out for almost a month and half. I felt it was too long,” he was quoted as saying in a Tibet.net report Jan 31.

Out of his exile home of nearly six decades in Dharamshala hill town, the Dalai Lama spent most of January at Bodh Gaya, Buddhism holiest, site, giving a series of religious teachings and attending other events as well. Before that, he gave a series of teachings in Tibetan settlements in Karnataka state.

Arriving at the local Kangra Airport at Gaggal, the Dalai Lama has also referred to the Jan 19 bomb scare at Bodh Gaya. He has said the Bodh Gaya police took every step to ensure security for the public and suggested that the incident should not be sensationalised too much as the media was prone to do at times.
