Dalai Lama to be chief guest at premier Tibetan studies university’s golden jubilee

(TibetanReview.net, Dec31, 2017) – The Dalai Lama will be the chief guest at celebrations marking the 50th anniversary on Jan 1 of the Central University of Tibetan Studies in Sarnath, Varanasi, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Top leaders of the Central Tibetan Administration are also attending the golden jubilee of the premier Tibetan studies university which is run by the government of India.

Before the milestone anniversary celebrations, the exiled spiritual leader of Tibet is to grace a two-day conference on ‘Mind in Indian Philosophical Schools of Thought and Modern science’ at the institute over Dec 30-31.

President Lobsang Sangay of the Central Tibetan Administration, as well as Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, besides Kalon (minister) Ven. Karma Gelek Yuthok are among those attending the event.
